TV Aerial Maintenance: As Important Today As Ever 

Despite the huge number of different options when it comes to television these days, with cable, satellite, streaming and ‘on demand’, the vast majority of us in the UK still use digital terrestrial TV via our television aerials and it remains the most popular way to receive television programmes (by a long, long way).

In fact, despite many of us using terrestrial alongside some of the newer modes of watching TV, homes which ONLY watch digital terrestrial television has actually gone UP in the last 7 years!  From 10.18 million at the end of 2010 to 11.28 million at the end of 2017. That’s a lot of homes still using traditional television aerials! And, unsurprisingly, aerials are just as subject to the British weather and just as prone to needing maintenance or replacement as they were decades ago (though they are generally more robust than they used to be...).
 

Poor TV Reception?

More often than not, poor TV reception is down to one of the following:

 

  • Faulty TV Aerial

  • Faulty cable

  • Faulty down Lead

 

The average aerial has to put up with a lot of weathering here in the UK, so it’s almost inevitable at some point a replacement or maintenance will be required.
